tampons and pre-schoolers don't mix

Yesterday, Curious George woke up before me (not an uncommon occurrence) and tried to get me to get up and start the day. When I finally got up to use the bathroom, he followed me. There he saw two big boxes of tampons.

CG: Mom, you use this for your pee-pee?

Me: Um, yeah.

CG: I use this on my pee-pee?

Me: No, Matty. Only girls use it.

CG: I use it on my penis?

Me: No. Only girls use it.

CG: On your penis?

Me: No, girls don't have penis.

CG: Why?

Me: Because girls and boys are different.

By this time, I hurry up with my morning ritual and run out the bathroom!

Here are the girls with Nana and Papaw while Daddy and I loaded the mini van to head home after the Christmas weekend.

Matty's First Professional Hairtcut

On Saturday morning, Matty exclaimed that his hair wasn't cut by a barber. I asked him if he wanted to get it cut, and he said yes. (He's really long overdue. His sideburns hang lower than his ears.) So off we were to a hair cuttery. He did really well, though I had to assist in getting him to stop looking around. The hair cut wasn't bad, but I think Daddy and I do a better job. Seriously, don't you think he looks a-la-Spock with that bangs?

To show off his new do, I snapped a few photos and happen to catch him in a mood, as in the I-want-to-terrorize-my-sisters mood. Can't you see the terror in the girls' faces?

I think Katie has realized that big brother is up to no good, while Jojo enjoys the commotion.

At this point, Matty is starting to get in his sisters' nerves. Katie gets squeezed harder, while Jojo gets pushed off the chair. Matty is having a ball.

Don't you want to know exactly what is going in this boy's big head?

(whatever it was that he's trying to do) Jojo has completely fallen off the chair, and Katie is still trying to get away. Poor girl.

Mommy didn't join in to even the odds, but it seems the girls would need to train a bit more. I hear twins attack together. One from the front, and the other from the back. I would sleep with one eye open if I were you, boys.

If you can't tell them apart, don't worry. Neither can we! Jojo is filling up her cheeks nicely that we often do not realize who were holding until we look closely. But don't worry, girls. We've never switched you. Katie is Katie and Jojo is Jojo...or did Katie become Jojo and Jojo become Katie? Oh no! Well, you're identical so it's alright. Right?
