sibling love and naughtiness

As usual, I am playing catch up with my blog. Here is some love and naughtiness from the three terrors taken 12/21/2009 back in NC. I meant to send this to Daddy since he was already in Texas at this time, but I don't think I even got around to doing that.

Daddy Time

Thing 2 wants some cuddles.

And then she wants kisses.
(we're dread the day she discovers boys!)

Thing 1 looking like a big girl.
(Their hair is long enough for one big pony tail on the back!)

some lovin' feelin' this Christmas

Thing 2 getting cozy with Nana.

Nana was going for a smooch, but Thing 2 stuck out her tongue. She's a sneaky one.

Thing 1 plays hard to get when Thing 2 tries to kiss her. Hugs and kisses are a whole lot better than biting, I say.

Curious George and Thing 1 show some love (before the tackling begins).

it's cold today!

We all woke up at 7:30 this morning. In our house, that's considered sleeping in, unfortunately, that's too late for a 9AM soccer game! But we did still somehow got there on time.

It was only in the upper 40's so we all froze our buns off (it was 85 yesterday!). But yet, the little man still made 3 goals. Yay! It still takes a whole lot of coaxing and encouragement for him to play, though. If we ask him play, he says, "I don't want to!" But when he's out there, he's pretty good! I heard that trophies were being handed out today so I used that as an incentive. Unfortunately, the plans were changed at the last minute. The trophies will be handed out next week after the game. The team will have a 'banquet' at the local pizzaria. It should be fun.

Trying to keep warm!

Half time snuggle time. Can you tell the eyebrows were made from the same mold?

Such a sad puppy-eyed look from Thing 2. See the horizontal red line on her nose? She tripped just before we left home and landed flat on her face on the floor. Thankfully, nothing is broken. She should grow up to have her Mommy's pug nose.

Thing 1, the little red riding hood.

maybe a hug can bring about world peace

I am ashamed to say it, but I am a yeller. Once I reach a certain frustration level, I yell. I feel awful about it, so I have empowered my son with what I hoped was something that would stop me in my tracks.

I told my son that instead of yelling and being mad at each other, we should just love and hug each other.

Shortly after our conversation, we had an opportunity to test my theory. Matty wasn't listening to whatever I was saying and I was about to pop a vein. He stopped, looked at me, and ran toward me. "Let's hug each other, Mommy!" Not one to reject my son's need for affection, I complied.

With a smile on my face, I went from 60 to zero (well, maybe not zero, more like 15) in 3 seconds flat.

Now the problem is that the power has gone to the boy's head. When we got to warning #2 last night at the store, he used it to wipe the slate clean. Hmmmm.
